The Seventh Annual Bonfire at The Iron Furnaces will be held on Saturday, October 21, from 6 to 10 p.m. at the historic Scranton Iron Furnaces, 159 Cedar Avenue, Scranton. A fundraiser for the Anthracite Heritage Museum, this event explores the roots of Halloween in Celtic culture and celebrates other cultural autumn festivals while highlighting the region’s industrial past.
This year’s event will feature music by Light Weight, fire twirlers, face painting, fire hooping, tarot card readings, a balloon artist, a hands-on activity by the Everhart Museum, live theatre, the ceremonial lighting of the bonfire, and food and beverages.
Tickets include admission to the festival and $5 in Bonfire Bucks, to use towards food, beverage, and activities. Tickets are $15 online or $20 at the gate. As always, entrance to the festival is free for children 12 and under. For tickets, click here. Halloween attire is welcomed! For more information, click here.
