Earth Day Plant Drive & Planting
April 22, 2017, 9:00am - April 22, 2017, 12:00pm
Save a plant, spruce up the park! To help beautify the Nay Aug Avenue Natural Play Area in Scranton, we'll collect and plant native flowers on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to noon, at the play area. The park is located at 1731 Nay Aug Avenue in the Green Ridge section of Scranton (near the Green Ridge Shopping Center). Before discarding or mulching native plants when sprucing up the yard this spring, please consider donating them to the play area. Desired varieties include: Black-eyed Susans, Daylilies, Sedum (commonly known as stonecrop), Tiger Lilies, Daisies, Hostas and Ferns. An Earth Day planting will be held at the play area on Saturday, April 22, from 9 a.m. to noon. All donations are greatly appreciated as the project will create opportunities for educational science and nature programming for children and enhance the beauty of the play area. For more information, visit lhva.org or call 570.963.6730.
