The Fourth Annual Scranton Half Marathon will take place on Sunday, April 2, beginning and ending at Valor Credit Union Field at Memorial Stadium. The goal of the race is to provide a superior event highlighting the local area and in doing so, bring increased exposure and revenue for local businesses. The race starts at 9 a.m. for Half Marathon runners. The Kids Run will start at 9:30 a.m.
The Scranton Half Marathon is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization. Proceeds from the 2017 event will benefit the continued development of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail. For more information, and to register, visit www.scrantonhalf.com.
BikeScranton, Lackawanna Heritage Valley’s free bike share program, kicks off at First Friday in April! Tour the downtown on a bicycle, free of charge! Look for the BikeScranton tent on Courthouse Square. Bicycles will be available to anyone age 16 or older with a valid photo ID. Cyclists under age 18 must be accompanied by an adult.
