This year marks the 25th anniversary of Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area (LHV). To commemorate this important milestone, the community is invited to join LHV in payingtributeto the visionaries who founded the Lackawanna Heritage Area, and to celebrate the land, people and industries that made this region significant in the history of the state and the nation.

On Thursday, September 8, at 5:30 p.m., friends and family will gather at the Scranton Riverwalk for a gala 25th anniversary celebration. The Olive Street Trailhead will be transformed from a natural pathway for fitness and recreation into an elegant outdoor venue for a gala heritage event. Monsignor Joseph G. Quinn, founding chair of LHV, and the inaugural members of the Founders Circle, will be honored.

Honorary Chairs are United States Senator Bob Casey and Pennsylvania Senator John Blake, and Community Chairs are Matthew and Christina O’Brien Haggerty and Joseph and Bridget Malloy Kosierowski.

A committee of dedicated community volunteers is planning a lovely event featuring live music, a brief video presentation, hors d’oeuvres and beverages, an awards presentation and more! A Legacy Keepsake Book is being created in honor of this special milestone. Its pages will be filled with tributes to the families and businesses that make this region so special. Advertising and sponsorship opportunities are still available. To learn more, click here.
