Story Walk on the Riverwalk, August 14

In the WoodsFamilies are invited to explore the natural beauty of the Lackawanna River Heritage Trail and the joy of reading at Story Walk on the Riverwalk, on Sunday, August 14, at 1 p.m., along the Scranton Riverwalk at the Olive Street Trailhead.

The free program is made possible through a partnership between Lackawanna Heritage Valley National and State Heritage Area (LHV) and the Lackawanna County Library System (LCLS).

Children will enjoy a guided tour of story boards along the trail, featuring In the Woods: Who’s Been Here? by Lindsay Barrett George. Since the theme of this year’s Summer Reading Program is “On Your Mark, Get Set, Read!” ― a Story Walk on the Riverwalk is a natural fit for the community!

This program is best suited for children ages 4 to 8, and all children must be accompanied by an adult. This event is offered as a gift to the community as part of the LCLS Summer Reading program and LHV’s 25th anniversary series.

The Story Walk will be held, weather permitting, at the Scranton Riverwalk on Olive Street (across from the Ice Box Sports Complex, just one block east of the intersection with Providence Road in Scranton).
